Aniseeds
Aniseed scientifically known as Pimpinella anisum, also called aniseed or rarely anix, is a flowering plant in the family Apiaceae.
The seeds are produced by the Pimpinella anisum plant, which has been cultivated, the seeds are small, brownish-gray, and slightly curved, with an aroma of licorice.
Aniseed, which is used as a spice and as a medicine, has a sweet liquorices-like taste. Their minty flavor combined with their chewy texture that enters every crevice of your teeth makes them a natural mouth freshener.
Aniseed is one of the oldest spices used widely for flavoring curries, breads, and soups, baked goods such as German springerle, and Italian biscotti, sweets.
It may also help promote digestion, decrease bloating; it has anti-fungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
